Are you someone who has a great interest in the Arts? Are you looking for art lessons in Singapore? Do you wish to delve into the world of Art but don’t know where to start? If so, our 24 session 3 Medium Art Immersion course is perfect for you!
Fret not if you have no prior Art background! Our patient and professional instructors will assess your proficiency in Art and tailor the lesson to best suit your needs. If you have prior experience in this field, our experienced instructors will guide you from there to further advance your skills. So long as you have an interest in picking up these skills, we assure you that this experience will be an enriching one for you.
Our 3 Medium Art Immersion Course allows you to explore 3 types of different art mediums. This includes acrylic painting, watercolour painting and sketching and drawing. Throughout the duration of this course, you will learn from our experienced art teachers to master these 3 mediums. Students can also have the freedom to choose all 3 mediums, or to focus on one or two mediums throughout the sessions to master their medium(s) of choice. Unlike most art lessons in Singapore, all art materials will be provided in this course, so you do not have to worry about paying for them!
One of the mediums you can try out in our Art Immersion Course is acrylic painting. Acrylic painting is one of the most popular art mediums right now, known for its fast-drying and convenience over oil paints. Over here at Visual Arts Centre, students who wishes to do acrylic painting can decide for themselves what subject they wish to paint. You can bring to class a picture of a landscape or an architecture building they fancy and create something of their own, under the meticulous guidance of our professionally trained art instructors.
Another medium we provide you with is watercolour painting. Watercolour is a gentle and subtle medium that yields beautiful results in the end. In these watercolour painting sessions, you will gain first hand knowledge of basic watercolour theory, mixing and colour usage, watercolour brush work and techniques. This course is suitable for beginners or those with prior knowledge to watercolour painting. Students will be exposed and asked to observe watercolour works done by other people and learn through emulation of those good works. You will also be exploring diverse subjects and themes, ranging from tropical fruits and flowers, to landscape, architecture and plein-air painting.
Last but not least, you will have the chance to experience drawing and sketching in our 3-medium Art Immersion Course. Drawing and sketching is the foundation to all visual arts. By using only line and tone, you achieve solidity and depth of your subjects, which is the first step to the world of art. The practice of drawing is therapeutic in nature and helps also cultivates patience, mental alertness, and perseverance. This course is an introduction to the discipline of drawing, through the honoured tradition of the sketch- the conception of every great piece of art. Our systematic approach will also ensure that you are able to build a solid art foundation.
Absolutely! Many of our students signed up for our classes with no experience at all! This course is suitable for all levels of experience. Our professional trained art instructors will cater to your different pace of learning to ensure everyone gets specific and personalised instructions and guidance that will benefit you the most. So don’t worry! Whether you are a beginner or someone who is looking for a refresher course, this course is suitable for you!

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
