Professional art courses by Visual Arts Centre – Drawing and sketching course, Oil Painting, Acrylic Painting course, Art Immersion Course, Chinese ink painting course and others. In addition, the Portfolio Preparation course and Private Art Course provides for more customised and tailored art learning suited to the individual. Suitable for all learners, from beginners to advanced.

Fully guided in a small group class setting. Our professional art teachers provides guidance, art demos and instructions to students individually. All classes except the Creative Kids Art Immersion course are for teenagers and adults; younger teens aged eleven and above may attend the professional art courses.

Portfolio Preparation Course

Suitable for those looking to apply for Art Schools! DSA Portfolio Preparation | Diploma / Tertiary Art Portfolio Preparation

Full Year : Art Training Foundation Course + Private Coaching Lessons

Suitable for students seeking to prepare and build a portfolio of works for art/design school admission. The Portfolio Preparation Course is split into foundation training and portfolio coaching. Students will be prepping their skills and working on observational works in Foundation Training, and develop creative works in Portfolio Coaching.

Depending on the requirements of your portfolio (and your current foundation level), it is advisable to to take one year (48 sessions) to two years (96 sessions) of art courses (108 to 216 hours) in training and preparation for a portfolio body of artworks.

Suitable for beginners and those with previous experience, Acrylic Painting course is for great for those who want to pick up painting and develop a foundation or enhance their skills in acrylic painting. Learning objectives are based on your current foundation. Beginners may start with landscape acrylic painting or still life acrylic painting.

Creative Kids Art Immersion course is a great course for children to begin or continue in their art learning journey. We emphasise on teaching children fine art and providing kids exposure and learning on various art mediums from young! With various subjects and themes to inspire and encourage their creativity, kids develop a foundation in traditional art forms, as well as explore multi-media, craft and sculpture art.

This holiday, the Art Exploration Course is the perfect programme for children between the ages of 7 – 9 to explore new mediums and build up their foundational art techniques. This fully immersive holiday programme allows your kids to learn the basics of fine arts, like painting, colour theory and sketching. 

We offer 2 courses, with a full range of mediums for students to explore and learn with us, helping them to release their creative juices and be independent in their learning.

World of Manga [Foundation & Styling]

A manga art workshop for children and teenagers sounds like a fantastic idea! Here’s how you might structure it:
Introduction to Manga: Begin by introducing what manga is, its history, and its influence on popular culture worldwide. Show examples of different manga styles and genres to give participants an overview.
Basic Drawing Techniques: Start with the fundamentals of drawing, such as line work, shapes, and proportions. Provide step-by-step instructions on how to draw basic manga characters, focusing on simple shapes that can be built upon.
Character Design: Move on to character design concepts, including creating unique characters, designing their personalities, and developing backstories. Encourage participants to get creative and think outside the box.

Batik Tales

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric.
