林子影 (1940-1995年),新加坡 已故著 名画家,海派新 加坡弟子,师从海 派画家 范昌乾,是范昌乾 大弟子 亦是得 力门生。范昌乾乃 海派大师 王个簃、王一亭 的学生,50年代中 辗转居 民新加坡。1957年范昌 乾在中正中 学担任 美术老师时,林子影正 是青春 年少是便 跟随老 师学艺,林子影 对范 昌乾诗词、书画、篆刻无 不钦佩,下定决 心开始 学习中 国水墨画,他虚心 学习老 师的一招一式,勤学苦练,跟随老师 习画三十 年之久,直到范昌 乾87年过世为止。林子影得到 海派绘 画的真传,通过他 的作品 无论用笔、用墨、用色、布局处处 看出海派 绘画的传 统功力 又有自己特色,作品耐人寻味

欣赏林子 影作品 分几部分,书法、山水、花鸟、抽象。其中山水和 花鸟最 为突出,林子影的山水画题 材多 数是东 南亚 风景也 有中国 名 山大川,他 笔下的 狮城小景、马来村庄、巴厘岛风光、泰北村寨等作品,构图巧妙,设色清雅,笔墨淋漓。茅草小屋,小桥木船,河边嬉戏的马来妇女,迎风飘摆的高耸耶林都刻画非常精细又见笔墨功夫,实在妙不可言。

林子影 花鸟作品处 处可看出 海派 的大写 意传统 功力,纵横 豪放、潇洒飘逸、淳朴浑厚。梅、兰、竹、菊的画 法显示 出扎实 的写意画 基础又加 以创新,梅花的 构图大胆,采用画面 满构图又在空白 处写上 书法诗句,体现了 梅枝苍劲、梅花 之茂密,风格 独特,90年 代初林 子影开 始创 作重彩 水墨 和抽 象山水,大胆 运用 泼彩 泼墨,挥洒 自如,轻松 奔放 地画 出中 国名 山风光,此时 林子影 创作已 走向高峰。

在林子影 的作品上看 出具 有海 派传 统功力又 有南 洋特色,生长 在南 洋的林 子影正 是优秀 的海派 弟子,把海派绘画 发扬光 大的同 时又融 入自 己身 处的 环境,创作无数 具有 南洋风 的优 秀作品,他还积 极参与 各种艺 术活动,担任学 校美术 主任,担任 华翰 书画 研究 会会长,担 任中华 美术 研究会 理事,他教学 认真,他所教 的学生 成绩突出,获奖 无数。林子 影在美 术活动 中为新加坡做 出了重大 贡献。不幸 的是林 子影 于1995年 12月与美 术同 仁共游 中国 山西太 原时 病逝,享年 55岁。此乃 新加坡美术 界的遗 憾 和损失。

林 子 影 已经 离开 我们 整整25 年了,但人 们 没 有 忘 记 林 子 影,没 有 忘 记 他 对 新 加 坡 美 术 的 贡 献,美 术 界 人 士 更 是 经 常 提 起 他。为 了 缅 怀 追 忆 林 子 影,林 子 影 家 人 把 子 影 的 遗 作 加 以 整 理 呈 现 给 大 家,让 艺 术 爱 好 者 欣 赏 并 缅 怀 艺 术 前 辈 林 子 影,希 望 这 些 作 品 大 家 喜 欢 并 从 作 品 中 能 悟 到 中 华 水 墨 画 的 精 髓,画 家 林 子 影 是 本 地 海 派 传  承 的 领 军 人 物,他 的 作 品 非 常 值 得 收 藏。

我 非 常 荣 幸 能 作 为 策 展 人 能 和 林 子 影 家 人 一 起 来 推 广 林 子 影 艺 术,我 们 会 定 期 举 办 林 子 影 艺 术 鉴 赏 活 动,把 林 子 影 的 遗 作 呈 现 给 艺 术 爱 好 者 和 收 藏 家。

World of Manga [Foundation & Styling]

A manga art workshop for children and teenagers sounds like a fantastic idea! Here’s how you might structure it:
Introduction to Manga: Begin by introducing what manga is, its history, and its influence on popular culture worldwide. Show examples of different manga styles and genres to give participants an overview.
Basic Drawing Techniques: Start with the fundamentals of drawing, such as line work, shapes, and proportions. Provide step-by-step instructions on how to draw basic manga characters, focusing on simple shapes that can be built upon.
Character Design: Move on to character design concepts, including creating unique characters, designing their personalities, and developing backstories. Encourage participants to get creative and think outside the box.
Expression and Emotion: Teach how to convey emotions and expressions through facial expressions, body language, and positioning of characters. This can be a fun and interactive exercise where participants practice drawing various emotions.

Guided by professional graffiti artists, children explore the art of designing their unique tags, emphasizing creativity, expression, and individuality. The workshop includes hands-on activities, from sketching concepts to creating final designs with spray paint on provided surfaces. By the end of the session, children gain confidence in their artistic abilities and an appreciation for graffiti and funk as legitimate forms of street art. Each child completes two original artworks, which they proudly take home, showcasing their newfound skills and personal style.

Batik Tales

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
