Visual Arts Centre will be introducing a range of exciting March Holiday Programmes this year, and one of it includes the Introduction to Digital Painting Workshop! Have you always wanted to learn the hows of digital painting but never got around understanding the basics? Fear not as this workshop will cover the fundamentals of digital painting – Character Design and Painting as well as Environment Design!
With a pen at hand, the world you can create is boundless. At the end of this workshop, you will be able to learn the basics of storytelling within 3 panels, character design, as well as environment design!
Workshop objectives:
Through digital art, you will not only be able to draw your favourite characters, but also create works that are suitable for your portfolio submission into art schools or courses!
This workshop is held for 3 consecutive days, from 15th-17th March 2022, 10am-1.30pm.
Workshop fees: $380nett/pax (not inclusive of art tools and software)
Basic tools required for this digital painting workshop includes the following:
Either A) Laptop + Drawing Tablet
Or B) Ipad with Apple Pencil/Pencil with pen pressure
Pen pressure is really important in creating good digital art, as it gives you the possibilities of drawing thick and thin, light and heavy strokes as if you are using a real pencil! This adds the feeling of depth to your work, making it more impressive.
Softwares that you can use:
A) Laptop users
Free softwares like Krita or MediBang Paint works fine. If you have the budget, Photoshop would be the best choice.
B) Ipad users
Free softwares like Adobe Fresco works fine. If you have the budget, Procreate will be the best choice.
Art materials and tools will not be provided for this workshop.
