In the annual Halloween Festival, we like to encourage all the hard-working employees to join us for our special art jamming events and workshops. Visual Arts Centre is specialised and glad to host these art workshops as a form of art therapy so that these dedicated employees can have a fun and meaningful art workshop where they can relax and enjoy themselves!
Halloween, celebrated on October 31st, is a fun and spooky holiday rooted in both ancient traditions and modern customs. It originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, where people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. Over time, it merged with Christian practices and became a festive day for honoring the dead.
Here are some key meanings and traditions associated with the Halloween:
Halloween Festival is a time of joy, gratitude, and reflection, as people come together to celebrate a mix of fun, fear, and creativity, making it one of the most popular celebrations of the year!

1. Mask Painting
Design your own mask with painting subjects like Classic Monsters, Animals. Fantasy Creatures and Horror Characters. Apply acrylic paints or graffiti spray paint or glow-in-the-Dark Paint. Bring back your own special mask & put it on during Halloween photoshots!
Design and paint your own pumpkin lanterns with painting subjects like Classic Jack-o’-Lantern Face, ghost faces, spiderwebs or any of your favourite design. Apply acrylic paints or stencils and coloured markers or glow-in-the-Dark Paint onto your pumpkin lantern. Bring back your own special pumpkin lantern & use it as a prop during Halloween photoshots!
Sketch whatever design you like for example pumpkin face, skeleton, ghosts or anything creepy that you can relate to Halloween on your t-shirt! We will be providing acrylic paints, glow-in-the-dark paints, stencils and full guidance to teach you how to paint on your t-shirt. Bring home a unique, one-of-a-kind t-shirt look that’s fun to wear or gift!
4. Resin Coaster
Be guided to make Halloween-themed resin coasters, mix epoxy resin and pour it into silicone molds, adding Halloween-themed items like small spiders, skulls, or glow-in-the-dark pigments. Use black, orange, or purple resin with glitter or metallic accents for spooky effects, and layer designs for depth. Let the resin cure fully, pop the coasters out of the mold, and sand the edges or add a cork backing for a polished finish.
5. Glass Painting
For Halloween glass painting, we will guide you on how to use glass paint or acrylic mixed with glass medium to create spooky designs like pumpkins, ghosts, or bats on glass surfaces. First, clean the glass, sketch the design with a marker, then paint it using brushes or paint pens, adding details like glow-in-the-dark or glitter accents. Let the paint dry completely, then cure by air-drying or baking, depending on the paint type, to set the design.
Our special Halloween Team Bonding Art Jamming workshops for employees are conveniently held at both our Dhoby Ghaut and MacPherson Art Studio or head over to your office too!
We can even customise the session’s date, time, duration and cater to a small group size.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
