Thinking of celebrating your little one’s birthday in a unique and creative way? Want to make their special birthday one that they will never forget? Visual Arts Centre can host a artsy and fun filled art infused birthday party art jamming session for your children! Come spend a day of getting your hands messy creating wonderful pieces of art with the guidance of our friendly facilitators! Customisable to your needs, Visual Arts Centre will help  you to plan the artsy birthday party art jamming of your kid’s dreams!

Visual Arts Centre will help you to plan and host a birthday party fit for your little artists! Come and share with us what you have in mind for your party and tell us more about your little one. We can design a party based on your child’s needs and likes, if he likes dinosaurs we can do a dinosaur jumping clay sculpting activity,  if she likes princesses, a princess tiara making session would be perfect! We can also offer additional services such as food catering, balloon sculpting, and face painting.

We offer various kid birthday art jamming activities such as:

1) T–Shirt Painting

In our T-shirt painitng activity, Children will have creativity freedom to draw and paint their favourite designs and patterns on a blank T-shirt with different colours of their choice. To make it more personalised, they can also include their names on the respective T-shirt. Once it the paint has dry-up, they are more then welcome to wear it during the party feeling special with their very own one of a kind t-shirt.

2) Tote Bag Painting 

Invite the birthday child’s friends to come and design their own tote bags! This can be a fun activity where each child gets a blank tote bags to draw their favorite animals, flowers, or anything they like. Some kids might even want to write their names on their tote bags. 

After designing, they can wear their self-created tote bags, take photos, and have a meaningful time with their new personalised souvenir. This activity not only sparks the children’s creativity but also allows them to learn some drawing techniques. It sounds like a fantastic idea for a birthday party, so let’s go with the tote bags painting theme this year!

3) Acrylic Painting with Graffiti on canvas

Develop your kids with strong confidence to express themselves through graffiti painting art even during birthday party art jamming celebration! Get them have fun during the birthday party and be excited with friends to produce a collective piece of graffiti artwork!

In this Acrylic Painting with Graffiti on canvas activity, every child is an artist. They can freely wield their acrylic painting brushes or doodle on blank canvas to create their own masterpiece that can be abstract with their imagination. Once the works are completed, there can be a mini show and tell session where children are allowed to explained what they have designed – this will cultivate children’s creativity and confidence.

4) DIY Mask Making

Children doing this DIY mask making/painting activity will be designing on white masks of different shapes! They are free to choose colour pencils, paints, and other decorative material to design and create decorative masks by themselves. This is not only interesting, but also allows children to wear masks and role-play games after their creation is completed. 

Engage your kids with interesting mask making activity and improve their hands-eye coordination skills during birthday party art jamming session! Express their creativity on making mask with the theme choices like animal, Disney princess or favourite manga anime characters and enjoy the role play birthday party session! Create amazing memories with their friends and bring home their cute designs! 

5) Plastercast Sculpture Painting

In this activity, children will be painting on one plaster casts based on their own Chinese Zodiac sign (such as pigs, sheep, dogs, rabbits, mouse, etc). Every child is an artist, they have creative freedom to freestyle paint their favourite pattens and designs on their plastercast sculptures. 

We also have other plastercast sculptures, such as Snow White, Prince Charming, Santa Claus, Baby Bear, Race Cars etc. Upon completion, they are allowed to bring their personalised birthday souvenir back home making it very meaningful.

6) Clay Sculpting

Get your kids hands-on to learn something new even during birthday party celebration! Create and mould their own jumping clay sculpture during birthday party ! Have your kids creating their favourite animals or characters through creative ideation process development with our professional art instructors!

In this mold sculpting activity, children will all be provided with safe colored clay (airclay). Depending on every child, they will have to use their creative imagination to mold their favorite shapes, characters, or even make small ornaments. Some examples they can mold with airclay are small animals, toy cars or other shapes they like.

7) Birthday Card Making

Children will be provided with different colors of cardboard, stickers, scissors and glitter and are encourage them to make birthday to their beloved friend during the birthday party. They can design also their own cards and give them to their  friends or family as gifts.

At the end of the party, give each child will have a chance to show their work and talk about their creative inspiration and thought process – this  can enhance their self-confidence and bring a sense of accomplishment. Children can also give each other personalisedx works to enhance friendship among children.

Through these interesting art projects, children can not only enjoy the party, but also express themselves through creation and leave special memories.

  • Use of our facilities such as Venue Space (Dhoby Ghaut or Macpherson Art Studio) and our curation.
  • The children will be under the guidance of our professionally trained art instructors and friendly facilitators. They will be in good hands and produce beautiful artworks at the end of the birthday party art jamming session.
  • They can bring home all of their masterpieces after a fun day!

All materials including canvas, paints, brushes, tools, and aprons will be provided! Light refreshments and drinks are complimentary. Our friendly staff will help you coordinate and plan your little one’s birthday party. You may arrive a little while before the party to set up and decorate the venue and may also arrange to cut a cake in the stipulated time!

World of Manga [Foundation & Styling]

A manga art workshop for children and teenagers sounds like a fantastic idea! Here’s how you might structure it:
Introduction to Manga: Begin by introducing what manga is, its history, and its influence on popular culture worldwide. Show examples of different manga styles and genres to give participants an overview.
Basic Drawing Techniques: Start with the fundamentals of drawing, such as line work, shapes, and proportions. Provide step-by-step instructions on how to draw basic manga characters, focusing on simple shapes that can be built upon.
Character Design: Move on to character design concepts, including creating unique characters, designing their personalities, and developing backstories. Encourage participants to get creative and think outside the box.

Funk with Graffiti

Funk With Graffiti Workshop for children is an engaging and creative program aimed at introducing young artists to the vibrant world of graffiti and funk-inspired street style art. Participants learn the basics of graffiti history, techniques, and safety. Guided by professional graffiti artists, children explore the art of designing their unique tags, emphasizing creativity, expression, and individuality. The workshop includes hands-on activities, from sketching concepts to creating final designs with spray paint on provided surfaces. By the end of the session, children gain confidence in their artistic abilities and an appreciation for graffiti and funk as legitimate forms of street art. Batik Tales

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
