Digital art painting is an art form that uses electronic devices from tablets or computer software to create art. It usually consists of a digital graphic tablet like an IPad/Microsoft Surface and a stylus pen. Using the graphic tablets and stylus pen, the artist will illustrate and paint within the software as their digital canvas. Digital Art painting is hassle-free as you do not require any physical traditional painting materials like easel, paint brush & canvas etc and digital artwork is easily accessible to draw out on your digital device like laptop and mobile phone & tablet etc since you can bring it with you everywhere.
However, completing a very realistic digital painting is difficult without any drawing and sketching foundation. The foundational drawing and sketching skills and techniques like composition, ratio, perspective, tonal value, and structure would be helpful to create your digital artwork. Your sketching, quick sketching and colour theory knowledge will help you to complete your great digital artwork and painting. Digital art painting is one of the most popular art drawing mediums, and currently digital painting is practically used in every 3D design, animation art, anime etc!
Manga is derived from the term for Japanese comic books and graphic novels of various genres and settings from Romance to Horror and from Work environments to School environments to Homes. Manga usually consists of illustrated characters in detailed art panels containing bubbles of speech. People usually are addicted to reading Mangas out of interest and for their intriguing storylines. Mangas are also forms of escapism where they can escape from reality and relieve their stress levels.
Making a manga requires a lot of time, patience and artistic skills but don’t let that stop you from trying! We all have to start somewhere. Drawing Mangas requires precise line strokes to not take away the attention from the character’s emotions. Like all artworks, composition plays an important role in every aspect even in Mangas. You want to ensure that your characters are in frame. Depending on the emotions you want to depict in your manga, a close-up or even a full wide-view is essential to get your readers to continue reading.
Have you always wanted to learn how to draw Manga or do a Digital Art painting but never got around to understanding the basics? Fear not as this course will cover the fundamentals and skills you need to acquire.
In order to learn Manga and Digital Art painting, Visual Arts Centre’s Art instructor teaches you through a step-by-step demonstration on their device for you to mirror it on your very own device. Different software pen-brushes and techniques will be taught according to the main subject reference.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
