Ms Nidhi Samani, Ms Sonal Mathur Megha Mathur and Ms Aparna Patil, in collaboration with 13 other notable artists in Singapore are proud to present “Symphony in Colours”- an art exhibition of works by both established and emerging Singapore based artists, showcasing diverse styles and varied mediums including oil, acrylic, pencil, watercolour, Chinese brush painting and mixed media, and more.
There will a silent auction of artworks to raise funds for an international charity for street children in India, I-India, and a part of the sales proceeds will also go to support a local charity HOME, run for the welfare of the migrant workers in Singapore. In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
