It is always important to start young. With Visual Arts Centre, we know how it works and the criteria behind the strenuous process of entrance interviews and tests. Guided by our professional instructors, our Introduction to Drawing & Sketching and Portfolio Building will be perfect for those of you whose kids are hoping to start building a portfolio for themselves.
Fret no, this programme is suitable for kids 9 and above, teenagers and those of you aiming to get into a university course are welcomed as well. You do not need prior drawing skills nor do you need a background in art. Just bring in an interest and learning heart. Over at Visual Arts Centre, a conducive and comforting environment is what we specialise in especially since the pressures of going to school has already taken it’s toll on your young one.
This 2 hour and 15 min Session is suitable for the absolute of beginners and no prior experience is needed – this is what we are here for!
All materials will be provided just come with an interest in art and heart to learning. We will be will you every step if the way.
This programme is also suitable for those of you hoping to ace a portfolio interview with university entrances.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
