Get excited to dive into the world of GRAFFITI and create your own Graffiti artwork using painting and spray painting techniques!

This workshop is suitable for anyone with a strong interest and perhaps curiosity on Graffiti art! Complete beginners to drawing or painting are welcomed to join and be completely blown away!

Be guided by local Graffiti artist ANTZ in your journey to create your own unique Graffiti artwork in this workshop. Combine design, doodling, brush painting and spray painting with pure creativity and fun. Learn to make your own Graffiti art in this 2.5 hours workshop. 

2.5 Hours Graffiti Art Workshop Programme:

15 Minutes – Introduction to Graffiti Art – characteristics of Graffiti, various expressions and methods of Street Art

30 Minutes – Brainstorming, design and conceptualisation of your own Graffiti Art (using a 50x60cm canvas)

1.5 Hours – Acrylic Painting and Spray Painting with textures and effects, optional layering with marker drawing and design

15 Minutes – Participants touch up and refine their artworks, conclusion of Graffiti Art Workshop and photo-taking

About Graffiti Art:

Graffiti art may be created with various tools and methods. The process of making Graffiti include design and conceptualisation, drawing, and painting. Spray painting is seen as the main medium of Graffiti art or Street art. Abound with creativity and expression, Graffiti art is often done as large mural art along streets and has also attracted much attention with the notoriety of famous artists like Banksy. Graffiti art is said to be a unique and expressive form of art that encourages freedom of expression and often uses bold colours, abstraction and icons of society.

About the instructor ANTZ:

ANTZ is one of the Singapore urban art scene’s mainstay talents, having been a continuously practicing creative since 1999. ANTZ stays true since the beginning of his design career and has served as a strong driving force for youth empowerment, from continuously mentoring for World Skills and Noise Singapore, to his involvement on the streets, engaging both the brightest and marginalised youth through design, street art, and graffiti.

Equipped with a strong understanding of design and an ubiquitous obsession for the Chinese culture and aesthetic, ANTZ continues to walk the art world reaching most of South East Asia, China, North America, and Europe and in the process have successfully carved out a niche of diverse and notable clientele, including Neiman Marcus, OCBC, Esplanade, Sentosa, and Facebook, to name a few.

Who can join this workshop?

This workshop is suitable for beginners in art! Teenagers of age 12 and above can join this workshop alone or accompanied by an adult. This workshop will introduce you to the basics of Graffiti Art and will also guide you step by step in the process of creating Graffiti with a combination of brush painting and spray painting.

World of Manga [Foundation & Styling]

A manga art workshop for children and teenagers sounds like a fantastic idea! Here’s how you might structure it:
Introduction to Manga: Begin by introducing what manga is, its history, and its influence on popular culture worldwide. Show examples of different manga styles and genres to give participants an overview.
Basic Drawing Techniques: Start with the fundamentals of drawing, such as line work, shapes, and proportions. Provide step-by-step instructions on how to draw basic manga characters, focusing on simple shapes that can be built upon.
Character Design: Move on to character design concepts, including creating unique characters, designing their personalities, and developing backstories. Encourage participants to get creative and think outside the box.

Funk with Graffiti

Funk With Graffiti Workshop for children is an engaging and creative program aimed at introducing young artists to the vibrant world of graffiti and funk-inspired street style art. Participants learn the basics of graffiti history, techniques, and safety. Guided by professional graffiti artists, children explore the art of designing their unique tags, emphasizing creativity, expression, and individuality. The workshop includes hands-on activities, from sketching concepts to creating final designs with spray paint on provided surfaces. By the end of the session, children gain confidence in their artistic abilities and an appreciation for graffiti and funk as legitimate forms of street art. Each child completes two original artworks, which they proudly take home, showcasing their newfound skills and personal style.

Batik Tales

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
