The inaugural edition of the Affordable Art Fair occurred at London’s Battersea Park in October 1999. A gathering of ten thousand art enthusiasts graced the fair, where they perused and acquired numerous original contemporary artworks, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, and prints, all within a laid-back and convivial setting. Affordable Art Fair has since expanded its presence to ten global cities, including London, New York, Hong Kong, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Brussels, Singapore, Stockholm, Melbourne, and Sydney, and is poised to introduce two more fairs in Shanghai and Berlin. Every year, more than 185,000 art aficionados attend these fairs worldwide, where they can explore a diverse selection of affordable artworks by established artists and emerging talents, presented by a variety of local, national, and international galleries.
After a 3-year pandemic lull, Affordable Art Fair made a tremendous comeback in 2023 to bring life to the cosmopolitan art marketplace of Singapore. As the longest running international art fair in Singapore, the Affordable Art Fair saw a total of 15,000 visitors and S$4.5 million in art sales in last year.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric.
