If you have grown up your whole life with a big family, it is the norm to have group party activities that accommodate everyone. That may include multiple parties and endless amount of food, usually ending up with a loud and big toast. Such big events sound fun and amazing but it also comes with much expectations, dealing with many vendors, liaising with many relatives and having activities and food that will suit everyone’s taste (or at least the majority).

There are many ways to make celebrations and parties fun without having to burn a hole in your pocket or tear down the whole function room. All you have to do is to think out of the box and not limit your celebration venue to clubs, condo function rooms, relatives porch or even bbq pit under your HDB flats!

1. Creative Art Jamming (as a group)

 

This  group party activity is far from mundane! Forget about the artistic film that you have watched before in the past where the rich will be in solitude and painting the most depressing painting ever. This creative art jamming is meant to hype the whole group up with challenges and obstacles along the way! Whether it is a small group of 15 people or a large group of extended families and friends of 75 pax, art Jamming would surely bring more laughter and delight into your life At the end of it all, your whole group can either decide to:

  • Choose a common theme and paint something related to the theme, individually
  • Choose a common theme/vision and come up with a individual paintings that in the end, when pieced together, forms a beautiful mural painting

What to expect in Creative Art Jamming?

 

Visual Arts Centre

Duration: 2 – 2 and 1/2 hour

What is provided:

  • Hassle free – no liaising with different vendors (everything will be planned and accounted for!)
  • Venue is sourced for (in the comfort of our cozy studio or big and spacious gallery, both within the green oasis of Dhoby Ghaut Green or external venue – depends on availability!)
  • All materials provided – including paint, canvases, brush, aprons, easels
  • Amazing environment – with good background music
  • Trained and friendly facilitators
  • Light refreshment and drinks will be included (should you need catering of food, do let us know and we can arrange for that as well!)

Outline of Art Jamming Sessions:

  • You and your friends will be the one to decided the theme of the party, the theme of the art jamming!
  • We will then prepare accordingly the reference pictures needed (or you can make it challenge and have you and your friends pick the theme on the day itself and think on the spot!)
  • Materials e.g size of canvas will range from 30x30cm for individuals or 50x60cm for 4-6ppl/group beforehand
  • On the day itself, get ready to be enjoy some good background music and happy facilitators that will guide you through the art jamming period and also learn some much needed brush and painting techniques
  • At the end of the day, bring back your masterpiece and head home with a new found talent/ interest

2. Chinese Ink Painting

 

Want to learn one of the most traditional form of oriental art? Join us for a session of therapeutic chinese ink painting and be equipped with basic knowledge of chinese ink painting e.g correct way to hold the brush and also learn how to draw some simple auspicious motifs e.g koi fish, gold fish, sparrow and plum blossom.

What to expect in Chinese Ink Painting?

 

Duration: 2 – 2 and 1/2 hour

What is provided:

  • Hassle free – no liaising with different vendors (everything will be planned and accounted for!)
  • Professional chinese ink painting instructor
  • Venue is sourced for (in the comfort of our cozy studio or big and spacious gallery, both within the green oasis of Dhoby Ghaut Green or external venue – depends on availability!)
  • All materials provided – including ink, mounted cardboard (and/or scrolls), brush, aprons,
  • Amazing environment – with good background music
  • Trained and friendly facilitators
  • Light refreshment and drinks will be included (should you need catering of food, do let us know and we can arrange for that as well!)

Outline of Chinese Ink Painting Sessions:

  • It is advisable to choose the materials you would want take home after this session. Each of you can bring back a mounted cardboard with your painting on top OR groups of 5-6 can share a scroll and paint on it together!
  • We will then prepare the reference pictures needed. (You can choose what the theme/ subject you would like to learn how to paint e.g koi fish, gold fish, lotus, birds etc).
  • There will be live demonstrations by the chinese ink painting instructor himself
  • There will also be practise rice papers for you to get a hold of the brush and also get the feel of the paper and the brush on the paper.
  • Our friendly chinese ink painting instructor will go around to help you out if you are not sure what to do!
  • After ample time to practise, you will be completing the final masterpiece either on a mounted carboard or a scroll, along with your friends or relatives.
  • On the day itself, get ready to be enjoy some good background music and happy facilitators that will guide you through the art jamming period and also learn some much needed brush and painting techniques
  • At the end of the day, bring back your masterpiece and head home with a new found talent/ interest

3. Nude Life/ Portrait Drawing Sessions 

 

What to expect in Nude Life/ Portrait Drawing Sessions?

Duration: 2 and 1/2 hour

What is provided:

  • Hassle free – no liaising with different vendors (everything will be planned and accounted for!)
  • Professional instructor well versed in figure or portrait drawing
  • Model will be sourced for
  • Venue is sourced for (in the comfort of our cozy studio or big and spacious gallery. Both within the green oasis of Dhoby Ghaut Green OR external venue – depends on availability!)
  • All materials provided – including pencils, erasers, easels, papers
  • Amazing environment – with good background music
  • Trained and friendly facilitators
  • Light refreshment and drinks will be included. (Should you need catering of food, do let us know and we can arrange for that as well!)

Outline of Nude Life/ Portrait Drawing Sessions:

  • Settle down in studio along with your friends. You are free to bring along wine and food of your choice to pair it up with this unique workshop
  • The studio will be set up just right for the workshop, where all of you will be surrounding the model.
  • Model will either be doing some short poses or a long pose, with some breaks in between. During his/her pose, you will all be observing him/her facial features and/or details on his/her body.
  • On the day itself, get ready to be enjoy some good background music and happy facilitators that will guide you through the art jamming period and also learn some much needed brush and painting techniques
  • At the end of the workshop, bond over this new experience and bring back home the masterpieces you created that night!

4)Illustration Workshop Session

 

If you love line art and its contrast between thick and thin lines, we have customizable illustrations workshop for you and your friends! Choose a theme to illustrate such as botanics, animals, portrait etc and we will plan a relaxing and fun workshop for you! Learn how to use lines to portray depth, light and shadows of your chosen subject. Watercolour coloring of completed illustrations can be facilitated upon request!

Time/Duration: 2 -3hrs

Theme: customizable!

Illustration Workshop Session outline:

  • Settle down in studio with your friends and get comfortable, have a friendly chat with our instructors!
  • All materials including drawing art card paper, pencils, erasers and aprons will be provided! Light refreshments and drinks are complimentary.
  • You will be under the guidance of our professionally trained art instructor and friendly facilitator. Do not fret as you will be under good hands and produce beautiful artworks at the end of the session!
  • Bring home all of your masterpieces and bond over these new experience!

World of Manga [Foundation & Styling]
A manga art workshop for children and teenagers sounds like a fantastic idea! Here’s how you might structure it:
Introduction to Manga: Begin by introducing what manga is, its history, and its influence on popular culture worldwide. Show examples of different manga styles and genres to give participants an overview.
Basic Drawing Techniques: Start with the fundamentals of drawing, such as line work, shapes, and proportions. Provide step-by-step instructions on how to draw basic manga characters, focusing on simple shapes that can be built upon.

Batik Tales

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
