The medium of oil painting has a venerable and distinguished history of many centuries, and is still a popular medium among painters today. It is a rich medium known for its versatility, and a beginner may be intimidated to approach the medium.
At our Studio, we provide professional oil painting classes. You will be taught materials knowledge and painting techniques through an academy-school approach, with the guidance of our teacher, who is a professionally trained artist. You will be taught observation, form and composition, colour mixing and blending, brushwork and a variety of oil painting techniques when you embark on your Oil Painting course journey with us.
Visual Arts Centre Art Studio’s art classes provide art instruction and guidance from a foundational level. This is to bridge any previous knowledge, and to give complete beginners a hands-down manual of the basics and step-by-step approach to Oil Painting. If you already have experience in painting, our teachers will teach you base on your level, design the most suitable lesson for you, and help you to improve your painting skills into the next level in the professional field.

如果你完全没有绘画基础、从未拿过笔、从未接触过油画，都不用担心，我们的老师将从最基础的课程开始讲解和指导。我们的课程由浅入深，循序渐进。
如果你已经有油画基础，想要在专业方面提升，我们的老师会根据你的基础设计适合你的课程，能够在你原有绘画水准上迅速提高。
12节油画课程内容：
1. 首先学习油画基础理论；了解油画材料和运用。
2. 通过静物写生训练对实物的观察能力，学习构图方法；学习色彩规律、调色和用笔技巧，如何把一组静物生动地表现在画布上，对物体的固有色、环境色及明暗关系都能很好地掌握和表现。
3. 针对学员的不同程度，老师会安排静物写生或风景写生，通过画三种静物写生学习油画技巧，例如完成横幅画布构图，画花盆、向日葵、水果、米色背景布；立幅画布构图，画喇叭花、玻璃杯、陶瓷碗、水果、背景布等；老师采取的教学方法：理论讲解、课堂现场示范、课堂点评。浓缩长期课程内容，采用速成法教学，让学生在短时间内做到油画入门，掌握油画技巧，为日后独立创作打下良好基础。

The following art courses are for the Art Immersion Course and Acrylic painting course. The art courses are available at both our Dhoby Ghaut Art Studio and MacPherson Art Studio, please choose your preferred location.

All sessions are to be completed within the course duration stated. No refunds are provided for any courses/workshops/lesson purchased. Further extension of course validity of up to one month only may be provided with proof of overseas travel, hospitalization/medical certificate.
The course package(s) is/are valid within the stated date of registration. Each session under the adult and teenager course package is 2 hours 15 minutes. Visual Arts Centre reserves the right to reject/reschedule your lesson if you are late. Visual Arts Centre reserves the right to cancel/reschedule/postpone any course/session without prior notice. In the event that the course is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund of the fees will be provided. The registrant/guardian of the registrant indemnifies and holds Visual Arts Centre and/or its staff harmless from any losses sustained from any activity within the premises of Visual Arts Centre, including personal injury/loss or damages to property.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
