Established in 2016, the Visual Arts Centre Exhibition Gallery has been chosen as the event venue for many local and international art exhibitions and art activities. With its prime location at Dhoby Ghaut, its beautiful park ambience, and a full suite of exhibition amenities and complimentary publicity services, Visual Arts Centre Exhibition Gallery has been a prominent arts venue in Singapore, and a popular space for hosting annual large scale art events. The Visual Arts Centre Art Studio is also an established Singapore art school providing a range of fine art classes and workshops for teenagers and adults since 2016. With the kids art curriculum being introduced since 2018, kids are provided with a comprehensive creative art programme catered to ages five and above. With the popularity of the Visual Arts Centre Exhibition Gallery @ Dhoby Ghaut, the Visual Arts Centre MacPherson Gallery & Studio was established in 2021 to provide a beautiful arts themed venue suitable for events hire and as to provide various art activities and programmes for art learners and lovers.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
