If you are a beginner without any foundation who has never held a paint brush before, fret not because our Acrylic Painting – Creative Acrylic Painting Professional Art Course | Art Class | Art Lesson are very beginner-friendly. We will start teaching you from the foundations and guide you through the learning process.
If you already have a foundation or a background in Drawing and Sketching or other mediums, it will be great to learn Acrylic painting too as it is a great kick-starter to grasping colour theory that would apply to all mediums like Oil Painting in the future! These techniques learnt will also be a great way to enhance the acrylic painting techniques you already have!

Each subject in your acrylic painting requires a different brush stroke and has its own unique application. Learn to apply and choose suitable brushes to create the textures you see on different subjects with different textures such as fabric, ceramic, glass and stainless steel etc.
Learn to express different acrylic painting strokes which you would use on landscape elements like trees, sea, mountain, clouds or the sky!
This course introduces students to acrylic painting and encourages creative compositions. We will be introducing students to the acrylic painting’s compositions, medium & techniques, working on subjects like still life, landscape, portrait etc! This skill is important, for anyone who is transitioning from drawing and sketching to transfer their skills to acrylic painting. Subsequently, students may bring their own acrylic painting references and receive guidance from our professional instructors to create their masterpieces!

Course Outlines about how to start an Acrylic Still Life Painting with all acrylic painting materials are provided:
1. Set up your objects – Arrange fruits, flowers, or items you want to paint.
2. do the Drawing & Sketching lightly – Outline the form of objects on your canvas.
3. Block in base colors – Paint the main colors for each object and background.
4. Add shadows & highlights – Make objects look 3D and realistic through different hues & saturations & brushstrokes.
5. Refine details – Add textures, edges, and small details.
Acrylic painting dries very fast, you may bring back the completed acrylic painting artwork!

1. Do the Drawing & Sketching on the portraiture – Lightly outline the head and facial features.
2. Block in colors – Paint base skin tone, hair, and clothing.
3. Add shadows & highlights – Give the face depth.
4. Refine features – Eyes, nose, lips, and hair details.
5. Final touches – Add small details, fix colors, and edges.

The art courses are available at both our Dhoby Ghaut Art Studio and MacPherson Art Studio, please choose your preferred location.
The trial classes are for one session only.
All sessions are to be completed within the course duration stated. No refunds are provided for any courses/workshops/lesson purchased. Further extension of course validity of up to one month only may be provided with proof of overseas travel, hospitalization/medical certificate.
The course package(s) is/are valid within the stated date of registration. Each session under the adult course package is 2 hours 15 minutes. Visual Arts Centre reserves the right to reject/reschedule your lesson if you are late. Visual Arts Centre reserves the right to cancel/reschedule/postpone any course/session without prior notice. In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
