Take this chance to explore the Mapletree Business City Public Art Trail! Learn to observe and capture the sights of the landscape, as well as iconic sculptures by local and international artists. During this workshop, participants will be provided with a drawing and sketching art kit with a clipboard for them to freely draw and sketch angles of their preference.
To ensure a safe environment for participants and the tour guide, please follow these rules:
– Turn on your bluetooth on the TraceTogether app on your mobile phones, or bring the TraceTogether token with you on the tour to facilitate contact tracing efforts
– Do not attend the tour if you are feeling unwell
– Keep at least 1m distance between yourself and the next group. Do not mingle with participants in other groups
– Keep your mask on at all times
Participants will split into smaller groups and evenly spaced out to study and explore the surroundings, and pick up useful skills and techniques for life sketching!
Additionally, top five sketches will win $20 worth of Mapletree vouchers each!
Art instructors will be guiding and facilitating students in this workshop.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
