本地水墨画家郭捷忻(48岁)在2018年看过滨海湾花园的樱花展后,便很想捕捉灿烂樱花绽放的无限春意。隔年4月,她跨洋到日本大阪与金泽探访樱花季节,感受到“春天能使大地起死回生,是爱回归大地的时刻”,将第七次水墨个展取名“祈春·爱”。
郭捷忻接受联合早报访问时说:“樱花绽放刚好是春天降临的时刻,成为春天的标榜,我把樱花季节刻画在蓝天白云之间,体现赏花真正的气氛环境。”
之前她在新加坡看到的樱花是粉红色的,而在日本看到的山樱则是白色的,郭捷忻印象最深刻的是衬托着樱花树的蓝天白云大背景,这次展出的18幅樱花画,以蓝白为主要基调,穿插粉红色。她有些画没画出花蕾花瓣树干,而是以抽象的简化法,通过留白构图带出春天的气息,画风显得格外清朗明媚,犹如画家祈求春天的朝气与庞大的力量,让万物起死回生,爱回人间。这显然有别于日本自平安时代以来“若无樱花常开,人间春色不再”,樱如吹雪转瞬即逝的伤春喟叹。其画也采用特别印章,如篆刻家陈振文刻的“花见”与黄琪刻的“祈春”。

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
