This art immersion course will be fun and exciting, and will help you kickstart your artistic journey! This course is suitable for learners of any experience levels – from beginners to professionals. Our art classes are flexible and convenient – you can come in whenever you are available and do not have to fret missing out on any classes. For those who are keen to learn both drawing and a form of painting, be it watercolour or acrylic painting, this course is great for beginners to explore, learn and improve overall art skills and techniques, acquiring a foundation for the mediums, while also being able to create your own artworks after the first foundation painting.
Our teachers are here to guide you, step-by-step, and students are expected to attend lessons regularly, once a week at any of the schedule(s) preferred. With our flexible lesson schedule, you may also come on any weekday timings without informing us of your change of lesson schedule!
For the 12 sessions art course, you will learn be able to try out 2-3 mediums offered at our studio. Our studio currently offers – drawing and sketching, watercolour painting and acrylic painting. Through this course of 12 sessions, you can choose the medium of your choice to work on first, before moving on to the next one. Acrylic painting is offered as an option in this immersion course. You can try your hand at acrylic painting if you interested in picking up a new skill!

At our Studio, we teach you to acquire a good art foundation in whichever medium you choose to learn, and it is skills and techniques that will equip you to explore your individual expressions and achieve your artistic goals – be it Abstract, Realism, Architectural Paintings, Landscape Paintings, or complexed Portrait or Figure Paintings!

For students who are looking to try out all mediums, or would like to find the medium for your choice, you can look froward to grasping the foundation level of all mediums. For students who are looking to be really well versed in one medium (e.g. being really good at acrylic painting or drawing and sketching), we would recommend you to dedicate all sessions to focus and learn that sole medium, until you are well acquainted with it. Should you like to focus on one medium itself, you may reach a beginner – intermediate level of competency.

All sessions are to be completed within the 14 weeks course validity. Further extension of course validity of up to one month only may be provided with proof of overseas travel, hospitalization/medical certificate. Each session under the adult course package is 2 hours 15 minutes. Visual Arts Centre reserves the right to reject/reschedule your lesson if you are late. Visual Arts Centre reserves the right to cancel/reschedule/postpone any course/session without prior notice. In the event that the course is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund of the fees will be provided. The registrant/guardian of the registrant indemnifies and hold Visual Arts Centre and/or its staff harmless from any losses sustained from any activity within the premises of Visual Arts Centre, including personal injury/loss or damages to property.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
