2024 MULCIP Art 6th Exhibition Synopsis
25 May to 31 May 2017
Exhibition Dates: 25th to 31st May 2017, 11am – 8pm daily
Exhibition Opening: 25th May, 5pm – 10pm
Fierce Creators rally western contemporary artists. The association’s name is a nod to the film Fierce Creatures. This hilarious comedy of the 90s takes place in a non-prosperous zoo taken over by a new leader. Well determined to reconquer an audience, he makes his animals pass for fierce creatures!
The Fierce Creators are no more bloodthirsty than the creatures of the zoo. They are fighting fiercely against a standardized aesthetic vision of artworks that are currently invading the artistic market. Their weapon: personal and singular Creations!
A wild bunch of Fierce Creators will be wandering about near Dhoby Ghaut. You can recognize them by their long brushes and an arty attitude.
Come and see them in their natural habitat: the gallery.
Enter at your own risk. If you are lucky, you can leave with an original artwork by drawing lots every day from the 25th to 31st may 2017!
Admission to the Exhibition is free.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
