Origin Of Art: A Celebration of Traditional Art & Cultural Heritage
Tista Art Gallery and Strokearts are proud to present the “Origin of Art” Exhibition, a captivating showcase of diverse artistic expressions from various cultures.
This year’s exhibition features an impressive lineup of National Award winning artists from India and Singapore. In collaboration with Jaipur Art Summit, a non-profit organization from India, Strokearts and Tista Art Gallery bring you an event that honours the beauty of traditional art and the artisans who have preserved these invaluable traditions.
The exhibition will feature over a hundred artworks across various media and genres. Additionally, visitors can immerse themselves in numerous art workshops, talks, and demonstrations led by renowned artists.
There will be a Young Artist Exhibit aimed at encouraging art among kids, and an “Art for a Cause” Charity Wall featuring artworks generously donated by the exhibition artists to raise funds for the chosen local charity.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
