Visual Arts Centre (VAC) was recently featured in The Straits Times for its latest exhibition, Welcome Home! – Utterly Art Artists Return To 20B Mosque Street, presented at the newly established VAC Art Gallery & Studio in Chinatown.
The exhibition marks a meaningful collaboration between VAC and the former independent gallery Utterly Art, bringing artists back to the historic 20B Mosque Street space that once hosted the gallery for over a decade. The show reunites artists who previously exhibited at the venue, presenting works across painting, printmaking, and mixed media.
In the feature, VAC Director Iola Liu shared the vision behind revitalising the space:
We’ve always wanted a space where we could host and promote local artists and emerging South-east Asian ones. With so many local shows having been hosted at this venue, now revamped into a cosy art gallery and studio, we’re most delighted and honoured to welcome the start of hopefully many collaborations with Utterly Art and local artists.
Iola Liu
The group exhibition brings together around 20 artists, including familiar names such as Aaron Gan and Andre Tan, showcasing a diverse range of contemporary works by Singapore-based artists.
Running from 6 March to 5 April 2026, the exhibition also introduces VAC’s new hybrid space that combines a retail art gallery and art studio, offering visitors the opportunity to experience exhibitions, workshops, and artist-led programmes in the heart of Chinatown.
