The Oxford Dictionary of English defines “kick-start” as an impetus given to start or resume a process. This word resonates deeply with the aims of our project, as we seek to launch a campaign, which would showcase the talents and abilities of the special needs community. This would in turn boost their self-confidence, allowing them to truly “kick-start” their initiation into the local performing community. Therefore, kickstART is a platform for the disabled artists who work with Very Special Arts Singapore to showcase their talents, where they express themselves through works of art. Despite the challenges that they face, these disabled artists are able to capture our evolving architecture and fauna on canvas; a true manifestation of their will to live life to the fullest. Witness their valiant efforts to achieve financial independence through doing what they love. Join us for a journey of discovery and wonder, as we delve into the intricacies of the local landscape and see our Little Red Dot through the eyes (and brushes) of our talented artists. See you there!
