Atanur is a Turkish-Canadian watercolour artist. He graduated from Dokuz Eylul University in Turkey, majoring painting and sculpture. He is the best known for his portraits and figures.
Atanur Dogan is the Founder and President of the International Watercolour Society (IWS), an institution he founded to promote and unite watercolour art and artists to bring peace to the world in 2012. It has become one of the most active art societies in the world and there are over 100 countries with IWS branches.
His significant achievements include being selected as one of five portrait artists, deemed best in the world by the Portrait Society of Canada in 2004.
Dogan’s paintings enrich art collections around the world and the museums. He has participated in more than 250 exhibitions worldwide and gives workshops around the global. 👍🏻

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
