Guided by professional and experienced teachers, you can explore fashion illustration through figure drawing, colour, texture and artistic expression. This course focuses on developing the fundamental drawing skills needed to illustrate fashion figures, clothing and fabrics with confidence and style.
Students will learn fashion figure proportion and basic anatomy, including how the human body is stylised and elongated for fashion illustration. From constructing figures and poses to illustrating garments, folds and textures, students will develop a strong foundation in fashion drawing. Students will also experiment with pencil, coloured pencil, markers, watercolour and mixed media, while gradually developing their own illustration style.
Suitable for beginners, teens, aspiring fashion students, and anyone interested in fashion and illustration. No prior experience is required.

By the end of this Fashion Illustration Art Course, students will:
Understand basic human proportions and anatomy, along with how they are adapted for fashion illustration. Students will learn basic human anatomy, and how to construct an elongated 9–11 head fashion figure, using the head as a unit to position the shoulders, waist, hips, knees and feet.
Students learning human anatomy
Learn to simplify the body into basic shapes and lines before developing a complete figure. Practise constructing the head, torso, hips, arms and legs with balanced proportions.
Explore different poses while learning about balance, weight distribution, movement and the body’s centre line to create more natural and expressive figures.

Learn how clothing follows and interacts with the underlying body structure. Practise illustrating dresses, tops, skirts, trousers, jackets and other garments.
Learn how different fabrics fold, drape and move around the body, and how gravity, movement and tension influence the appearance of clothing.
Fashion Illustration (Line Drawing Artwork)
Explore techniques for illustrating materials such as denim, cotton, silk, lace, knitwear and patterned fabrics using line, shading and colour.
Experiment with pencil, coloured pencil, markers, watercolour and mixed media, learning techniques such as line drawing, shading, layering and blending.

Learn how colour, contrast, highlights and shadows can enhance fashion illustrations and create greater depth and visual impact.

Bring together the techniques learnt throughout the course to create completed fashion illustrations demonstrating proportion, pose, clothing, fabric, colour and artistic expression.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
