26 Sept Thursday, 7:30pm-10pm for Nude Life session! at $85nett/pax
Academy life drawing studies are usually an essential part of art learning for fine art and design students and those aspiring in developing their own art practice.
This Nude Life Figure Drawing Workshop is taught by our resident artist instructor who will guide you to draw and sketch a life nude model. Join our adult students and be seated around the nude life model in a semi-circle and learn to observe the human anatomy and the nuances of shape, form and shadow. Learn proportion, form and composition, and acquire life drawing and sketching skills whether you are a beginner or an advanced art learner!
A combination of short and long poses may proceed in the session. More importantly, our experienced art instructor will ensure that everyone is able to receive guidance and tips of life drawing and sketching and complete an artwork during the 2.5 hours session.
Nude life figure drawing is important to an artist’s practice as a deeper understanding of the human figure can only be attained through experience and practise. The ability to depict the human torso and its many gestures and even motion requires advanced drawing and sketching techniques and a lot of life drawing and sketching practice! Nude life drawing is suitable for adult beginners too, and you need not fear the intimidating subject! Our art instructor is here to guide and help you! Do challenge yourself and give this a try, especially if you love nude art!
Through observation of the model – capture various tones, shades, shadows, angles, and skin textures of the model with your own interpretation in this portrait drawing session. The session starts with a brief introduction of proportion and basic anatomy of the skull and facial features, followed by more refined methods of observation and sketching as well as guidance from a professional artist. For those who require more assistance, fret not, you will receive instruction and tips to improve your work, which would be really helpful if you are looking to upgrade your skills and techniques on portrait drawing!

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
