Visual Arts Centre

It is that time of year again, a time where the Chinese new year spirit is alive and thriving. Thus, to celebrate the Lunar New Year, the Visual Arts Centre is holding a Chinese Ink Painting Team building exercise during the Spring season! From 1st February to 30th April, you can bring your friends or colleagues down to the Visual Arts Centre for a day of therapeutic fun.

But First, What Is Chinese Ink Painting?

Chinese ink painting is done using a brush dipped in black ink or colored pigments, usually on rice paper. The finished work can be mounted on scrolls and hung. Using water and pigments in a way similar to watercolour, Chinese ink is used to paint a variety of traditional Chinese subjects. You would usually use this technique to paint flora and fauna, such as horses, koi, cheery blossoms and bamboo. You use water to determine how dark you want your colours to be, as well as how far they will spread. In Chinese Ink painting, you would use a calligraphy brush that is pointed. Which means that it would be extremely therapeutic to do both thick and thin lines in a single stroke!

How Can Chinese Ink Painting be considered Team Building?

This arty team building exercise is known as Art Jamming. You can bring whoever you want to this Chinese Ink Painting Art Jamming! It could be your colleagues from your company or your own group of friends. Either way, this Chinese Ink painting art jamming is a great opportunity to learn more about each other. Not to mention, you will need teamwork and effective communication during the session. During an art jamming session, you and your buddies will be working on a single Chinese ink painting together. This will in turn deepen the bonds between you and your friends as you will have to work together to brainstorm and paint a cohesive, beautiful piece of art.
