DRAWING, OR EVEN THE ARTS IN GENERAL, IS A PROCESS OF TRYING. MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT IS THE EVOLUTION OF SKILLS WHEN WE BEGINS AS AMATEURS.

Feeling disheartened?  Well, you shouldn’t be. There is no one true step-by-step tutorial to creating art. Only being able to draw stickman now does not mean that you will always be bad at drawing.

Art is a form of expression; an outlet or way to communicate one’s imagination. Through the use of different mediums, shapes and colours, one can convey messages, emotions and even leave their own legacy.

Works with expressionist qualities like Convergence ” and the artists’ messages are often cryptic. It typically depicts the world solely from a subjective perspective, contouring it radically for emotional effect.

On contrary, Millet’s work of realism – Harvesters Resting, presented subject matters truthfully, without artificiality and avoiding artistic conventions. This form of art has been prevalent in the arts at many periods. It emphasises the mundane, ugly or sordid nature of the society.

Even though these works involve polar artistic qualities, they are both considered masterpieces in the art history. Artistic styles vary drastically throughout different art movements, reflecting the revolutionary nature of art.

Till today, new forms of art are still being explored. From renaissance to contemporary, there is something in art for everyone. So next time someone tells you “stick figures are not art”, just tell them it is MINIMALISTIC
